Episode #69:  In this episode, we delve into the profound effects of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), an anxiety disorder that goes far beyond stereotypical behaviors like bein a neat freak. OCD’s obsessional thoughts and compulsive actions can consume hours daily, limit lives, and increase isolation. Affecting approximately 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children in the U.S., it is equally common among men and women.

Our guest, educator and musician Lisa Taylor, shares her journey with OCD, from the emergence of her symptoms in childhood to the practices and treatments that now enable her to lead a fulfilling life. She emphasizes the importance of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy in her wellness routine. Additionally, psychologist and anxiety specialist Dr. Dufford discusses the symptoms and impacts of OCD and outlines evidence-based treatments, with a focus on ERP therapy. Learn about an emerging therapy called Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). This episode also features a moving, original song by Lisa Taylor, reflecting her experience of living with OCD.
