The Father Daughter Wound with Susan Schwartz, PhD
Loading
/

We speak about the relationship between fathers and daughters especially about what happens when the father goes missing. She gives several examples of client dreams exploring this kind of wound. We talk about the various ways that the masculine shows in up dreams and also about the negative father complex which creates a sense that the daughter can never be good enough or pretty enough. Dreams bring us hope that our difficulties can be met and surmounted.

We get a call from Jenny, my friend from my “Jenny’s GPS” dream which I shared at the top of the hour. She talks about the evolution in father figures in her dreams over the years from one which was weak or violent to a more nurturing figure. She finds she has a great deal more love for him than she used to.
