In the last year, fentanyl has claimed scores of lives in Santa Cruz County. Yet few locals understand the problem. The Santa Cruz drug scene has a reputation that encourages us to view this latest scourge through a distorted lens.

Joining host Suki Wessling for this roundtable discussion are Rita Hewitt, Program Manager for SafeRx Santa Cruz, Dr. Jen Hastings, a family medicine practitioner who has been with SafeRx Santa Cruz since their start in 2015, and Dr. Casey Grover, an Emergency Medicine Physician for Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula.
