Unheard Voices with Luna Bey

On Unheard Voices, Friday, 12 February 2021 it’s Black History month and Host Cheryl Williams speaks with Luna Bey, exploring the life and legacy of Louden Nelson, an early Blackpioneer of Santa Cruz. Luna is a founder and director of the Santa Cruz Equity project, a nonprofit devoted to the holistic support of Black residents in Santa Cruz County.

We also celebrate the birthday of abolitionist, writer, and statesman Fredrick Douglass, who was also one of the 19thcentury’s most photographed Americans. Douglass was born into slavery and celebrated February 14thas his birthdate

Unheard Voices is a derivative of the new Civil Rights Movement Black Lives Matter. This program is inclusive of all people of the colors of the Rainbow. We hold the vision that change begins in the heart, and with the intention to learn about others and respect their world views, we will find ways to coexist peacefully to create a world that works for all.

Unheard Voices airs every Friday at 3 pm.
