On Talk of the Bay December 22, Christine Barrington talks with Jon Nordgren, the Artistic Director of The Cabrillo Stage, a beloved venue for stellar performances that entertain audiences while cultivating local talent.

The Covid-19 Pandemic has been characterized by extreme loss, which has been complex in its nature. For some the losses have been mild while for others they have been shattering. With a vaccine rolling out, many are looking forward to the rebuilding process while still grappling with what this past year has inflicted. For the arts this is no less true. In this broadcast Jon shares with listeners how The Cabrillo Stage has been meeting the challenge of adapting in the face of Covid-19, which includes creating original digital content. The Stars of Cabrillo Stage is a digital series to engage audiences while we ride out the pandemic.

On Saturday December 27, 2020 and Friday January 1, 2021, The Cabrillo Stage is offering a screening of its original production Escaping Queens by Capitola playwright JoeOrtiz. Escaping Queens, is a heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting operetta inspired by his troubled childhood in Queens, New York. This is an on-demand video fundraiser. Your contributions are vital at this time and will help the Stage move towards its plan of offering Candide this coming July 2021!
