Playing with Dreams, a Katie Mason Re-Play

What is a futuristic dino apple? This is a creature that came out of Katie’s forearm in a dream. She has been working with this image for years now and it has opened a rich vein of authenticity and ridiculousness. Katie talks about this image and about how leading a parade for the Festival of Dreams in Santa Cruz in 2019 was the most fun thing she has done so far in her life.

We talk about learning to play and about getting into our child selves. We talk about creativity and daydreams. Katie describes a performance at the IASD conference in Tucson July 17-21 that was still in the future at the time of the conversation. Katie will be giving another performance at the June 2023 conference in Ashland Oregon. Learn about the conference at

We take a call from Sebastien from Ohio and he describes a dream in which he meets a dead professor at a theme park and ends up with gazpacho soup. He plays with the dream at Katie’s encouragement, singing about what it meant to him. We also take a call from Doris Snyder from New Jersey.

BIO: Katie Mason, MA, LPC is from Colorado. She is a psychotherapist and facilitates growth and healing using Dreamwork in her Private Practice. Katie is also a dream performer, combining spoken word poetry, humor and dream images to creatively express her dream truths.
