On May 7 Pauline Seales interviewed Santa Cruz political scientist Paul Scharfsma about climate change in Africa. Paul described several of his new 0n-line African friends. They use the term “Climate Shock” to describe the swings between severe drought and torrential floods. Parts of the continent have already warmed by 2 degrees Celsius, and yet they have contributed almost nothing to the greenhouse gases causing the warming. Paul described innovative coping strategies and ended on a hopeful note.
