On Talk of the Bay Monday at 5:30 pm, Magnus Toren, Director of the Henry Miller Memorial Library since 1993 shares his vision of the past, present and future of the Henry Miller Library: The place where nothing happens. Learn more about this cultural resource center and workshop space for artists of all kinds.

Henry Miller was a hurricane of a human being, smoldering with artistic ambition, until he burst onto the world with his Tropic of Cancer in 1934, and disturbed the status quo prolifically until his death in 1980. In 1944 he settled in Big Sur–what he called his first real home in America. And his presence still lingers there at The Henry Miller Memorial Library, a not-surprisingly eclectic space that champions Miller’s cultural contributions while simultaneously acting as a social center for the Big Sur community and its global visitors.
