The Gypsy Scholar will be presenting his annual Christmas program with an Orphic Essay-with-Soundtrack entitled: “The Winter Solstice/Yuletide Season & The Pagan Origins Christmas: Reclaiming The Winter Holidays.” As indicated, this musical essay will be an exploration of the pagan origins of our Christmas festival from the ancient Winter Solstice festival at midwinter, an observance that was understood to be essentially about the return of the light out of the womb of winter’s darkness. This year the Tower of Song program falls right on the beginning of Christmas Day! So please tune in on Monday at 12 a.m.
