Opening July 7 on The Cabrillo Stage: The Hunchback of Notre Dame! Monday on Exploring Santa Cruz, Christine Barrington interviews The Stage’s new Artistic Director, Andrea Hart, as well as Director Vin Nguyen, Choir Director Cheryl Anderson and Choreographer Brance William Souza, on how they are bringing Victor Hugo’s timeless novel to life. This new production showcases the Disney animated film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz, and a new book by Peter Parnell that pulls directly from the novel to portray the themes of seeing past differences to embrace humanity. The show runs from July 6-July 30.
