Phil McManus is retired after many years of work promoting human rights in Latin America and collaborating with nonviolent social change movements there. He learned to speak Spanish 50 years ago while researching adult literacy projects in Mexico modeled on the work of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire.
Amy Harrington has been a resident of Santa Cruz County for 45+ years. She taught in various school districts throughout the county as a bilingual teacher. Amy also worked as a court investigator for children in Child Protective Services. She served on the board of CASA- Court appointed special advocate and as President of the local Jewish Community Center. She has advocated for the rights of immigrants and their families for many years.
