K-Squid offers 3 more Broadcast and Podcast Workshops in August and September!
- SALINAS – Saturday August 16th from 1:30-3:30pm, at El Gabilan Library, 1400 N Main Street.
- MARINA – Wednesday August 20th from 6 to 8pm, at the Monterey County Free Library, 190 Seaside Circle.
- MONTEREY – Friday, September 18, from 6 to 8pm, at El Estero Park Center, 777 Pearl Street (next to Dennis The Menace Park).
The Broadcast and Podcast Workshops are led by Peabody Award winning radio show host Nikki Silva, along with other experienced radio hosts and podcasters from K-Squid Community Radio. Each 2-hour event will cover interviewing techniques and best practices, how to pick and use the right equipment for optimal sound, editing for radio and podcasts, plus how to list your podcast on streaming networks or get it on the radio. All experience levels are welcome.

KSQD, which is run by nonprofit Natural Bridges Media, was founded in 2019 to serve the local community with news, interviews, and music programming relevant to the region. In June 2023, with help from generous donors, the station successfully purchased two more frequencies and expanded broadcasting throughout the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz, Monterey and Salinas. K-Squid can now be heard at 90.7. 89.7, and 89.5 FM, as well as streaming on KSQD.org.

Great article on kpix bay area TV. Love the name KSQD. Fitting for the Monterey areas heritage among other things calamari. Fished for a living Tuna fishing as well as Squid. Since 70,s license plate says SQUIDME. i also have loge saying Squidme get you squid on. Another one referring to fishing lures I make saying SQUIDME in shape of squid then tails that get chewed. Like your logo also. Also write for Western Outdoor News fishing weekly every once in a while. Do you folks have merch? I have stickers and hats and such. Lures also. Great story on news about your engineer and award she had received.
