Soul and Hip-Hop singer, Gina Rene and organizer Ana Elizabeth, Musical Soulmates board member, stop by to talk (and sing) to share about “Let the Caged Bird Sing”, an afternoon of soulful music. Musical Soulmates is a newly-formed nonprofit performing arts collective that centers black performers and is hosting a concert for survivors of domestic violence at the Walnut Avenue Women’s Center in Santa Cruz Sunday the 22nd at 4pm.

Musical Soulmates delivers another awe-inspiring array of songs in honor of survivors:

Songs that hold space, renew the spirit, acknowledge the devastation of racism and colonialism and its impact on families, and encourage and empower listeners.

True to the Musical Soulmates Performers Collaborative mission statement, this program centers Black songwriters and performers, radiates vibrancy, and will deliver healing and joy.
