On Talk of the Bay host Christine Barrington interviews DNA, our local comedy impresario who returns to Santa Cruz to bring us the 12th annual Santa Cruz Comedy festival. Called the Laughtopus, this fest helps us reflect that being able to find the funny in these furious times is not only fun, it might also be fundamental–for our mental health and our communal connection.
Enjoy it all the first weekend in October at Woodhouse Brewing Company right off River St, with Valerie Tosi, who is among many other things, the producer and host of The Mermaid Comedy Hour, which is the longest-running all-female comedy show at The Hollywood Improv. DNA also brings back to Santa Cruz Myq Kaplan, who is cerebral, caring, and rib-cracking funny. Aside from these two headlining comedians there will be much much to giggle at and enjoy. So be there or be square on October 3-4.
