Join Talk of the Bay host Suki Wessling in this discussion with two professors from University of California at Santa Cruz about how they responded to classes going remote this spring. Rebecca London, assistant professor of sociology, and Regina Langhout, professor of psychology, were both faced with a conundrum: How do you teach a course online and adapt it to a pandemic? They responded by integrating the pandemic into their courses. London’s students documented the world around them, choosing projects shaped by their experiences trying to continue their lives as college students at home. Langhout’s graduate students stayed in Santa Cruz and committed themselves to Mutual Aid—helping different facets of our community come together to support each other. You’ll leave this conversation inspired by the dedication of UCSC staff and the ingenuity of their students. Listen in!
