On Unheard Voices Friday, December 18, 2020 host Cheryl Williams spoke with Justin Cummings, the first African-American elected to the Santa Cruz City Council, as he completes his historic year as mayor. They discussed some of his accomplishments in 2020, and what he wishes to achieve in the new year.
Then, Cheryl welcomes Nikia Chaney, English Instructor and StudentLiaison for Guided Pathways at Cabrillo College. An educator for over10 years, Chaney has been extensively involved in community social justice work.
Unheard Voices is a derivative of the new Civil Rights Movement Black Lives Matter. This program is inclusive of all people of the colors of the Rainbow. We hold the vision that change begins in the heart, and with the intention to learn about others and respect their world views, we will find ways to coexist peacefully to create a world that works for all.
