On Unheard Voices, Friday, March 5th 2021 host Gloria Nieto welcomed Heidi Cartan, Executive Director of Common Roots. This unique program produces organicvegetables, fruits, flowers, and eggs for sale to the public. A portion ofthe acreage is being built for permanent housing for developmentallydisabled adults and their caregivers.
Gloria also spoked with the farm manager fondly known as SuperNina. She’ll tell us about what to expect this growing season, and her work with the differently-abled gardeners.
Unheard Voices is a derivative of the new Civil Rights Movement Black Lives Matter. This program is inclusive of all people of the colors of the Rainbow. We hold the vision that change begins in the heart, and with the intention to learn about others and respect their world views, we will find ways to coexist peacefully to create a world that works for all.
