This show focused was on the 1970s and in particular how women contributed to the implementation of the first Santa Cruz Pride in 1975. At UCSC, feminist studies began in 1974 and at the same time, the Santa Cruz Women’s Health Collective began with many involved lesbians. Also developing at the same time was women’s music. One of the first women’s music festivals took place in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Hear from some of the women involved – Kater Pollock who was involved with the Women’s Health Collective and from Patti Maxine who has been part of the music scene around Santa Cruz since the 1970s. Patti graced us with singing the song called, “Peace on Your Journey.”
