KSQD finished its very first pledge drive a week ago. We are humbled and gratified by the response. We really didn’t know what to expect and had set a goal of $10,000. Our listeners more than doubled that goal! Today we are at $21,039. We had an average donation of $83.50 and 241 people gave during the drive with nearly half being new.
Thank you to all of our Philanthropod Squid Squad members, especially our matching donors, who will be memorialized on our wall in the air studio as the first to pledge on our first drive. You rock. Your support will enable us to fully equip our studio and office space, pay our ASCAP/BMI bills, and build toward our first staff positions next fiscal year (July 2019-2020).
We are heartened by the response from the audience and our spirits and determination are lifted to do more. We are in the process of hiring two new contract underwriting sales reps who have a deep commitment to community radio, so we are hopeful they will help us garner support from the many local businesses who are community-minded.
