The McPherson Art and History Museum has a new director, Ginger Shulick Porcella. She comes with experience at museums big and small, from Arizona to Minnesota, and has big ideas as the MAH approaches its 30th anniversary next year. How does this organization straddle its dual missions of presenting the history of the region alongside being an arts organization? We hear about the upcoming Wes Anderson-inspired exhibition and a project to honor Santa Cruz surfing history.

Rachel is host of Talk of the Bay and Board Chair of KSQD. She is the producer of radio documentaries such as Southern Songbirds: The Women of Early Country and Old Time Music, The Boomtown Chronicles, and Pastures of Plenty, a History of California Farmworkers. She teaches journalism at Cabrillo College in Aptos. She is a recipient of a Peabody award for excellence in journalism.
