Here at KSQD we take this moment to note with sadness the passing of Rowland Rebele, one of K-Squid’s founding donors. “Reb” as he was known to many of his friends, was a tireless advocate of the station and of local media, speaking out on our behalf and supporting our programming and vision before we even went on the air. Reb also supported many great local nonprofits and programs in our community including the Santa Cruz Symphony, the Cabrillo Journalism program, and the family shelter which bears his name. He remained curious and engaged right up to the end of his long and generous life. Our thoughts are with his wife, Pat and his children, Marianne, Andrew and Chris. We at K-Squid will be forever grateful for Rowland’s support and friendship and will miss his wise counsel and passionate support for the station and all it stands for.
