Does your kid understand money? Do you?
Kids in school don’t just learn the Three R’s anymore. School is a preparation for life, and it turns out that modern life is…complicated. Host Suki Wessling welcomes financial educators to talk about the financial skills that will serve us well in whatever economic climate we find ourselves in. In the first half of the show, we discuss the importance of financial literacy education for teens. What kinds of money skills do modern teens need? How do money skills relate to math skills?
In the second half of the show we move into adulthood, addressing questions about financial health in the post-pandemic world. What financial know-how do all young adults need as they enter independence? How much do we need to know about different ways of spending and saving money? Should we all be investing in crypto-currency?
Suki is joined by three people from Santa Cruz Community Credit Union and a teacher from Diamond Technology Institute. Listen in!
