A fire broke out late Tuesday at the Vistra Energy lithium-ion battery storage facility near Moss Landing Harbor. As a precaution, Monterey County residents in the surrounding area were advised to close their windows and doors overnight.
According to County Spokesperson Maia Carroll, the fire emitted light smoke. First responders and the North County Fire Protection District are working together in a unified command at the facility.
