Update: The extended first installment of this Orphic Essay-with-Soundtrack series “Lughnasadh/Lammas” (broadcast 8/4/25), is now available for listening on the “Archived Musical Essays” webpage, along with the corresponding playlist on the “Program Playlists” webpage, of the Tower of Song website.
This is just in time for the “Astrological Lughnasadh,” which is celebrated when the Sun reaches 15 degrees Leo. This year, it occurs on August 7th. Astronomically, it signifies the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox, marking the beginning of the harvest season and the first fruits of the land. (See original post below [2nd column] for program description. All musical essays are recorded and saved in the superior MP4 format and not in MP3, as are those saved on the KSQD “Two-Week Archive.”)
Be sure to check out the fantabulous “Lughnasadh/Lammas” webpage dedicated to this musical essay series, which is located on the Tower of Song website at revradiotowerofsong.com
