Former Senator Bill Monning on Santa Cruz' Measure Z Soda Tax

On November 5th, residents of Santa Cruz will be asked if they agree to be taxed 2 cents per fluid ounce of sugar-sweetened drinks. Having pushed a similar bill at a statewide level, former state senator, Bill Monning has insights about the dynamics of a similar local tax and how it might be a benefit to public health.
