Tune in at 12 a.m., Monday, August 19th, and hear the Gypsy Scholar present the first part of a two-part Orphic Essay-with-Soundtrack series entitled “Romantic Total Revolution & the Sixties Second American Revolution.” Now, with the presidential election coming up and Americans thinking more about political issues, it’s a good time to take a look back to the revolutionary period of the 60s (especially since the Democratic candidate for president, Kamala Harris, echoed the Sixties revolutionary mantra in her victory speech: “the people have the power”) for the great ideals concerning American democracy and the sociopolitical vision that inspired activists to struggle for those ideals. This musical essay series will also look at the Sixties “Second American Revolution” in terms of the  “Sixties Music Revolution.”

Be sure to check out the “Romantic Total Revolution” webpage and its subpage, “Sixties Music Revolution,” which are dedicated to this musical essay series, at revradiotowerofsong.com.

Update: This extended program is now available for listening on the “Archived Musical Essays” webpage, along with the corresponding playlist on the “Programs & Playlists” webpage, of the Tower of Song website.
