On Talk of the Bay, Monday, September 5 at 5pm, Christine Barrington welcomes Longtime Mixed Media Artist Sara Friedlander about collaborative efforts to grow the Santa Cruz Artists Assistance and Relief Fund (SCAARF), started in 2008 in answer to the critically limited funds available to artists facing emergencies in Santa Cruz county.
Joining Sara will be artists Rose Sellery and Melissa Kreisa, founder of the recently opened Curated by the Sea, a 4,600-square-foot exhibition space next to the Museum of Art & History (MAH) in downtown Santa Cruz, which is hosting a SCAARF fundraising wall of art through September 10. Together these three artists will speak to the power of Santa Cruz’ collective artistic community, how it contributes to our regional vitality and why it is valuable for all of us to lean in and support our rich artistic community when it matters most.
Donate to SCAARF: Visit the Curated by the Sea website and scroll down the front page to find the big DONATE button.
