On Thursday November 12, Pauline Seales interviewed Dana Bagshaw about her recent zoom play called “Yellow Ribbons”. The play was set in Santa Cruz in the year 1896 and features a group of local suffragists. The play was originally written as a stage play, and was modified for zoom production. The cast was not only in separate rooms – some were in a variety of location including the East Coast.
Dana had help researching material from local historian Ross Gibson and from Lisa Robinson of the San Lorenzo Valley Museum. The production features graphics supplied by the museum as well as ragtime piano music by the Calvary church organist.
This entertaining play showed how creative and adaptable we humans can be when faced with new challenges.
