Tom Hogye is President Emeritus, former Conservation Chair and Programs Chair for Santa Cruz Fly Fishing, where he’s spent 30 years fighting and working to promote sustainable fisheries management, the restoration and preservation of California Anadromous waters. He is currently battling for water rights that belong to Steelhead, Coho, and all salmonid species in the Pacific Coast rivers and estuaries.

Recently Tom Hogye is taking on a new roll with the Federation of Fly-Fishers International to further the goals of putting more water back into the rivers, especially during critical rearing stages in the summer and the removal of legacy dams that prevent natural migration with a focus on restoration of historical riparian habitat.

In the late 90’s Mr. Hogye worked to update fishing regulations for the protection of Salmon and Steelhead throughout California. As an avid fly fisherman, he has had the opportunity to work closely with many who are working to save other waters throughout the country.

Mr. Hogye has lectured at Yale School of Forestry, Colorado School of Mines, other universities and industry-related areas specifically for the preservation of the environment, acted as a US Industry Expert with the IEC/NEMA, and over the years has been published in a variety of electronics industry, conservation and fly fishing periodicals.
