The Genius of the Night Mind with Victoria Rabinowe

Your dreams are not crazy, they are genius! They are multilayered and polysensical, and they will ALWAYS have more to reveal. We speak today with mixed media artist, seminar leader and author Victoria Rabinowe. We begin by exploring the huge range of possible meanings of Snake as an example of why we shouldn’t limit our understanding of any dream image to a simple “interpretation”. Victoria also shared ideas for how you can work with your own dreams through visual arts and through writing drawn from her rich experiences in leading workshops.

We take three calls today. The first is from a writer of upstate New York named Barbara who asks about the variety of ways of working with dreams. The second call is from Julie who shares about her work around a dream in which her “make up” is stolen and what that means to her. Our third call is from Sean from Albuquerque who shares her tender experience of how her dreams have evolved from epic natural tragedies to merely pesky insects as she has learned to work with the images and feelings in her dreams.

Bio: As an artist, author, educator, and dreamer, Victoria has taught over 900 workshops, seminars and retreats world-wide to writers, artists, psychotherapists, spiritual guidance counselors, educators and seekers. Her DreamWork workshops feature powerful tools for personal catharsis, healing, illumination through juicy writing and inspired artwork. She is the award-winning author and illustrator of I HAD THE CRAZIEST DREAM LAST NIGHT: Creative Explorations into the Genius of the Night Mind and soon to be published CONVERSATIONS WITH PSYCHE: A DreamJournal Workbook. Her artwork has been exhibited in museums, galleries, universities and botanical gardens throughout the United States and abroad.
