Talk of the Bay with Chris Krohn, Tuesday, January 11: What is the state of homelessness in Surf City today?
The state of the houseless in Santa Cruz continues to be a political and social football. Tomorrow, the police are scheduled to evict the large homeless camp and kitchen that Food Not Bombs operates at the corner of Front and Laurel Streets in the City of Santa Cruz. Many campers were recently flooded out of their San Lorenzo Park sites, and there is more rain on the way this winter season. Houseless activist Keith McHenry, founder of Food Not Bombs, and Joy Schendledecker who is an active member of the Ecosocialist Working Group and who initiated the formation of the mutual aid group, “Sanitation for the People” will be guests on “Talk of the Bay” with your host, Chris Krohn, Tuesday, December 11, 5-6 PM on KSQD.
