What’s Going on With Ukraine and Iran?

Talk of the Bay goes international  this Tuesday.

In part one of the show, Chris Krohn will sit down with UCSC Russian Politics emeritus professor, Michael Urban and discuss the rapidly unfolding events going on in the Ukraine. Is it aggression on the part of Russia’s Vladimir Putin, or another ginning up of war by Democratic Party hawks, and hacks, inside the Biden Administration and brought to a slow burn by mainstream news outlets like the New York Times?  Russia and the Ukraine, crisis or  US-international hoax? Michael Urban is author of The Rebirth of Politics in Russia, Cultures of Power in Post-Communist Russia and Russia Gets the Blues.

On part two of “Talk of the Bay,” we hear from an Iranian refugee and political dissident who is helping organize international support for a struggling teacher’s union inside Tehran. How are teachers organizing against the Islamic regime’s daily oppression and failure to pay a living wage.
