Jane Weed-Pomerantz has been a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer since 2002, and in 2004 received the designation as one of the Positive Discipline Association’s Lead Trainers.

She facilitates 2-day certification trainings in Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way and Positive Discipline in the Classroom as well as Empowering People in the Workplace. She conducts in-service trainings for teachers in a wide variety of schools and has worked with several schools to further the PD Whole School Model. She also provides topical workshops for social service agencies.

She has taught 8-week parenting classes through Adult Education, Community Centers, at schools, in substance abuse treatment centers and Corrections Facilities in Santa Cruz County for over 20 years. Class series include Positive Discipline for All Ages, Navigating the Teen Years and Parenting in Recovery. Additionally, she has taught class series and workshops with the Cabrillo Foster and Kinship Care Program, SC Montessori school and businesses in the community.

Jane is a popular speaker for presentations and trainings in area pre-schools, middle schools, for Parent Clubs, in the faith community and in medical clinics.

She has been a Lead Trainer for Advanced Candidate Trainings and a speaker at conferences in the US as well as China, Spain and Peru.

She is married to a retired San Jose CA Fire Captain and mother of 4 children ranging in ages from 27 to 38. She has a Bachelors’ Degree in Community Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a Certificate in Training and Human Resource Development, and was a City Councilmember and Mayor of Santa Cruz in the 1980’s. She has been a professional facilitator for 44 years.

After serving on the founding board of the national Positive Discipline Association (PDA) Jane helped found and is on the Board of the local nonprofit, Positive Discipline Community Resources (https://www.pdcrcc.org) serving the Central Coast.
