/

The Moment of Truth program and KSQD were on the scene for the Bernie Sanders’ “Fight the Oligarchy” 2025 tour in Folsom, CA. Ami Chen Mills is joined by Denise Elerick, co-chair of the Mid-County Democrats and founder of the Harm Reduction Coalition of Santa Cruz County, who also traveled to Folsom for this event on April 15th, 2025.

What was the energy like? How many people were there? What was the overall message to the people? Did Trump supporters rain on the parade? … featuring interviews with participants in the crowd, and portions of speeches from both guest speaker, House Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders.
Music from The Philharmonik at the half hour break (also from the Sanders event)

Also at this rally:

Jane Kim, Director of the Working Families Party

Lorena Gonzalez – President of the CA Federation of Labor Union

Everett Kelley, President of the AFGE, American Federation of Govt. Employees

Notes:

Kevin Kiley is the current Republican Congressperson for California, which includes Folsom. District 3. Democrat Eric Swalwell has been holding town halls in District 3 because Kiley will not hold live halls. See Swalwell’s BlueSky account for updates.

Sanders is currently raising funds for Abdul El-Sayed, who recently announced he was running for the open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan.
