Everybody’s talking about “COMPLETE UNKNOWN” — the new film that reimagines the formative years of Bob Dylan. But if you know your Basic Bob, a whole lot is missing, everything is rearranged, and as a result, the real Bob Dylan remains well, a complete unknown. So, join “Dylanologist” Erik Nelson as he unpacks the new movie, puts the record — and records — straight, and presents the “Non-Director’s” cut version that perhaps Bob Dylan didn’t want anyone to see! All of the music played in these two hours is rare — and much of it still unreleased, so whether you love the new movie, don’t like it — or — haven’t seen it — you are in for a two hour musical crash course in All Things Bob. Who is the REAL Bob Dylan? The answer my friend, may be blowin’ right here!
Very nicely done. After seeing the movie twice and printing (and reading) the movie script, I’m surprised to find how similar our thoughts are. I have followed Dylan since his first album which my father bought, along with other ‘folk’ albums (Kingston Trio, PP&M, etc.) I feel privileged to hear Dylan being raised in a midwestern state. Finding your show reminds me when I was in college (’70-’75) in Iowa City. A friend of mine, from the east coast, received tape reels of hours of New York fm radio stations. I heard a lot of music ages before it arrived in the middle of the country.
Thank you . I’ll pass your show forward.
